B.A.P Indonesia Updates: [INTERVIEW] [ENGTRANS] 120918 B.A.P 'Talented' and 'Greedy,' We're B.A.P

Talented rookie idol B.A.P who puts on unbelievable performances for a group that debuted 8 months ago. We met these six boys who are more talented and greedy than any other while valuing their sweat rather than natural-born talent.

We meet again after 5 months. Has anything changed since then?

I think we’ve become more familiar with the camera (Yongguk). Our hairstyles changed (Zelo). We sought each member’s individuality a bit more. Our hair styles and fashion styles too. I think we’re also a lot more skillful in looking at the camera (Daehyun).

You are very busy promoting. What did you do before you came here?

We came after a music broadcast performance (Yongguk).

When you’re tired from practicing while preparing an album, what do you do?

It’s not easy for the members to go out together because our faces our well-known, but we recently started playing soccer together. We go to play soccer whenever we have time during the weekends, and I think it’s more fun to play all together (Himchan). We’ve also watched a couple movies at the theater. Recently, we watched <Theives> and <Deranged> (Youngjae). We were able to focus on the movie because a lot of people didn’t recognize us. Haha. It also makes me think that we should work a bit harder (Himchan).

How did you feel standing on the stage for the first time since your comebank?

It was fun. It’s because this album is a song where we can communicate with fans and play onstage. We were very strong in define performances for songs like ‘Warrior,’ or ‘Power,’ but we’re enjoying it this time, feeling like we’re at a concert rather than a broadcast (Youngjae).

What presents do you receive a lot from fans? Where do you keep your fanletters?

Daehyun shares a room with me and he always gets a bunch of presents. I’m really jealous. Haha (Youngjae). I have a lot of fanletters since our debut that I couldn’t throw away and kept, but since our dorm isn’t very large, it’s even taking up space in the veranda (Daehyun). I get a lot [of presents] when we have a fansigning (Himchan). Since our fans are mostly students, our presents are usually food or snacks. We can accept them without a burden too (Youngjae).

You have a lot of sunbaes and hoobaes around your age. Do you get motivated watching them?

We’ve never talked about any specific team, but a lot of hoobaes appeared recently too. We’ve only just debuted though. Seeing that motivates us a lot. We meet them a lot at music broadcasts, and I learn and feel a lot of watching their stage (Yongguk).

Is there a member whose talent you want or you want to be similar to?

I want to learn Yongguk-hyung or Zelo’s rap, and I want to be able to dance well like Jongup (Daehyun). I think everyone feels that way. You model yourself after something worth following (Yongguk). I want to learn Yongguk’s faithfulness. We’ve lived together since debut, and nothing about him has changed from then until now. When working on music, he consistently maintains the amount of work he does. I want to learn that too but for now I’m just watching next to him. (Laughs) I think that faithfulness is better than anyone else. And I want to learn Daehyun’s diligence. He wakes up really early (Himchan). I always wake up Himchan-hyung (Daehyun).

I want to ask each member. When do you feel that you yourself are cool?

When I monitor what I’ve shown on stage after preparing hard. But I’m never 100% satisfied (Jongup). For me, when I’m holding a mic on stage. I think at least for that moment, I’m the most cool (Yongguk). Me too… heuheu (Youngjae). For me, it’s when I sing (Daehyun). When I perfectly execute what I decided to fix before a broadcast, I feel proud (Himchan). I’ve thought that something really suits me when I did something, but I’ve never thought that I was cool (Zelo). You’re cool now though? (Youngjae) Ah, no (Zelo). He’s not easily satisfied. He’s very greedy, Zelo (Himchan).

It’s prohibited for idols to openly date. If you liked someone, how would you confess?

Me! I’ve thought about something for a long time. There’s a movie called <Step Up>. I did an interview like this in Malaysia during out BANG&ZELO promotions, but I want to confess as I dance down the stairs like in the movie (Zelo). I’m not good at speaking, so I think I’ll just keep looking at that person. I think I’ll just send my feelings with my gaze. I’m sure they’ll never know. Hahaha (Yongguk).

It’s probably too distant to ask the new B.A.P about their future 5 years later, right? Then we want to know your closest goal for the future.

Tomorrow, we are recording a variety show ‘Weekly Idol’ for the first time since our debut. I’d like to successfully and safely finish it. Haha (Youngjae). Also, we’re having our first Taiwanese showcase in Septmber. I want to do well (Yongguk).
